Surf's up at Wrightsville Beach, Wilmington NC

This beach has some great waves. I was tossed around like a rag doll because I wasn't expecting it. These four foot waves provide local surfers with some serious surf fun. Bring your boogie board and a set of fins. This is a true locals beach and although there are plenty of rentals units available there aren't hotels littering the coastline, yet. This is a wonderful beach vacation away from the tourists. It's still affordable and has all the conveniences of an American suburb on the fringe of the beach community.

We have family that live in Wilmington NC so we can take advantage of our locals. They had a boat and took us to an amazing sand bar on a island with beautiful soft sands and happy secluded floating families, dog friendly and all.

The inlets provide seasonal trout fishing in the fall which we just added to our to do list. If you have never participated in a fish running season you really should. The energy is contagious and exciting plus you fill your freezer with great fish.

We had a wonderful seafood meal at the Oceanic at the Crystal Pier in Wrightsville, NC.

This destination hits a lot of "yeses" for us and it will go down as as a possible live here for a while. We are also interested in buying a possible vacation rental condo here with 1 and 2 bedrooms at an affordable price. We will be back.
